CAR SEATS BY BRANDS

3in1 seats - what is it anyway? Advantages, disadvantages, prices.
You can immediately see an analogy to the already known 3-in-1 travel system, in which three separate elements are placed on one stroller frame: a carrycot, a 0-13 kg car seat or a stroller seat. In the discussed case, a 0-13 kg baby carrier is placed on one Isofix base, and when the child grows, a 9-18 kg car seat is mounted on the same platform. In fact, they should be called 2in1, but for marketing purposes, probably to gain additional associations with the travel system, the name 3in1 seats is used, treating the base as the third element of the set. Maxi Cosi, the pioneer of this technology, called this solution - Family Concept, and Besafe - Modular i-Size. The idea of the system is as follows:
- up to 4 years (when the baby is the most delicate) the child stays in an isofix seat all the time.
- the child is always facing the direction of travel, i.e. in the safest position,
- the same base is used for the 0-13 baby carrier and the 9-18 seat from the same manufacturer, i.e. you buy one isofix system for two different seats
- the use of the new i-size height standard, treating the child's height as the main division criterion instead of the current weight, makes the selection of a seat for a given user more realistic and simpler It is worth emphasizing that not all companies consistently apply the principle of placing the child rear-facing and, for example, in the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio 1 Duo Fix model, the child is transported forward-facing. Now the prices. The cheapest 3-in-1 set is offered by Peg Perego - about PLN 1,800, the Maxi Cosi Family Concept costs about PLN 1,900, and the currently most innovative and technologically advanced Modular i-Size Besafe costs over PLN 2,850. To put it simply - unfortunately, security costs a lot.
