The seat is mounted only rear-facing with the isofix base.

Ascent i-Size is a car seat that meets safety standards in accordance with both the European regulation - i-Size R-129 and the rigorous Swedish PLUS TEST.

What does DOUBLE CERTIFICATE WITH I-SIZE AND SWEDISH PLUS TEST mean:
While i-Size certification is a required standard for new car seats, the Swedish Plus Test is an additional and more stringent one. Developed by the Swedish automotive institutes, it was created to ensure safety in every case of transporting children. Not all RWF car seats will effectively protect the child from exceeding the maximum pressure forces on the cervical spine, hence the Test Plus, which eliminates models that do not ensure full safety.

What distinguishes TEST PLUS from other tests?

SENSITIVE SENSORS:
During the test, the forces acting on the dummy's neck are measured using precise sensors. This means that forward-facing car seats have no chance of passing the test due to too much stress on the child's neck during the impact.

SPEED:
The seats are tested at a higher speed than in the R44 and R129 homologation tests.

BRAKING DISTANCE:
Extremely short stopping distance which makes the test even more ruthless.

The Plus test is called the Gold Standard, which is due to more restrictive measures in key aspects for the safety of a small passenger. In order for the seat to pass the tests, the pressure on the child's neck must not break it.
