Three-wheeled strollers - advantages and disadvantages

The main advantage of tricycles is the low weight of the stroller, thanks to the reduction in the number of wheels. This also results in a smaller frame structure compared to standard four-wheelers. Thanks to their visually elongated silhouette, three-wheeled strollers have a dynamic, sporty, even youthful appearance. In the field of strollers, this type of construction is relatively innovative and light, and the design itself turned out to be ideal for running joggers. Hence, all jogging strollers are tricycles. Their other advantages include better maneuverability compared to their four-wheeled counterparts. Some leading companies produced both versions, for example: Maxi Cosi Nova or Mura, and formerly Quinny Buzz. For a change, another Quinny Moodd model (slowly going out of production) has a special, dedicated front axle as an option, thanks to which it can be quickly transformed from a three-wheeler to a four-wheeler.

The strollers in question are most popular as pushchairs, but you can easily combine the frame with a carrycot for the 2-in-1 deep version or with a seat for the 3-in-1 travel system combination - which means that they retain all the functionality typical of four-wheeled models.
In the case of inflatable or pneumatic wheels, which are standard in all-terrain strollers, mobility increases due to the fact that no obstacles are present, i.e.: mud, ground, slope, puddles, potholes. Running with a child is, on the one hand, a value, a pleasure and a beautiful example set for the little one, but on the other hand, it requires a sense of responsibility not to overdo it and not expose the child to excessive shocks. Of course, there are also plastic wheels on this type of vehicles, but we do not recommend them.
Some parents adhere to the principle that image and "piarism" come first and buy jogging strollers just for the dynamic image alone - paradoxically, we believe that noble snobbery does not have to be immediately condemnable. It may happen that something valuable will develop from it and the stroller will actually be used in the way intended by the manufacturer.

Perspectives

Recently, the fashion for three-wheelers has decreased slightly - like any fashion, the formula has worn out a bit - because they have lost the stigma of being new and innovative and have become a standard solution.
The above remark does not apply to typical running joggers, which are becoming more and more popular thanks to the rapidly growing running fashion.

Cons and customer concerns
Customers who refrain from purchasing this type of strollers because they are afraid of their instability, i.e. This fear seems more psychological than real, because our many years of experience do not indicate that the statistical risk of tipping over is greater compared to four-wheeled vehicles. It is true that there are no perfect strollers - there is always a question of what is a priority for us and what we can ignore and consider secondary.
